The Minneapolis Jewish Federation has an exceptional opportunity
for a strategic executive with strong fundraising and business
leadership skills to lead a vibrant and diverse Jewish community.
With a Jewish population of approximately 35,000 and a deeply
committed donor and volunteer base, Minneapolis offers a strong
Jewish infrastructure. The community is home to 18 Fortune 500
company headquarters, and offers beautiful lakes & biking trails, a
thriving theater scene, all major league sports teams and the Mall
of America (biggest in the US). Minneapolis has been consistently
ranked in the top 3 US cities for high quality of life based on 20
criteria ranging from #1 in lowest unemployment, #1 in friendliness
and #2 healthiest city.
The Federation is seeking an executive who will build on the
community's tradition of high per capita giving, innovation and
strong Jewish institutions to help shape the future anchored by the
Federation's recently adopted Community Priorities; creating a
community of shared responsibility; engaging the next generation in
Jewish life; strengthening our connection to Israel and Jewish
peoplehood; broadening leadership excellence; and enhancing and
deepening the commitment to Jewish philanthropy.
Essential in this role is a leader who will build and nourish
trusted relationships, respecting tradition while recognizing when
change is needed. Inspiring trust through open and transparent
interactions, the new executive will work closely with the board
and partner agencies, synagogues and the broader Jewish and general
community to drive the Federation's mission. A strong people
manager, the CEO will promote teamwork and staff and volunteer
collaboration, and attract and engage new volunteers to grow into
leadership roles. An effective communicator, utilizing strong
fundraising and management skills, the CEO will be a results-driven
leader who is able to maximize participation in Jewish communal
life. Outstanding interpersonal skills, a proven track record of
success in financial resource development, strong business acumen
and a commitment to Israel and Jewish values are critical for
success.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required with serious strategic leadership and
management experience. This experience could be in the business,
government, academic or non-profit sectors. Candidates should have
a successful track record of working with a board and understand
the volunteer-professional partnership.
The successful candidate must be enthusiastic about the
Federation's mission and able to inspire others to help create a
community committed to that mission. A track-record of successful
fundraising accomplishments is also essential.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
