Position Overview:
Responsible for all salary and benefits budgeting and forecasting. Monitors all salary and benefits accounts and analyzes any variances. Also responsible for processing the semi-monthly payroll, including all payroll related journal entries and payroll/salary account reconciliations and analysis. Maintains the Payroll database. Remits payments for Retirement plans. Works closely with HR Director. Provides support to the Controller and is responsible for monthly bank and gift/contribution reconciliations.
Principal Accountabilities:
Works with Director of Business and Finance and HR Director to create annual salary and benefits budget. Handles all requests for salary forecasts. Is responsible for ongoing monitoring and formal monthly variance analysis of salary and benefits related accounts. Maintains current FTE count. Is responsible for all salary and benefit reporting for surveys. Handles all salary and benefit related requests associated with the annual audit.
Responsible for all aspects of the payroll process. Enters all payroll changes, and remits to payroll vendor twice a month. Completes all payroll related journal entries. Reconciles all payroll related accounts on a monthly basis. Maintains Payroll database. Answers employees payroll related questions. Remits TIAA-CREF retirement contributions for each payroll and completes associated journal entries and monthly account reconciliations.
Responsible for Comprehensive Employee Compensation Reporting -: development and ongoing.
Reconciles bank statements and gift/contribution accounts on a monthly basis.
Works closely with HR Director, including assisting HR Director with Employee Contracts.
Provides support to the Controller assists with other accounting functions and projects as needed.
Required Experience:
Required
Three to five years payroll experience.
Detail-oriented and thorough with strong organizational skills
Strong communications skills - written and verbal
Strong computer aptitude with knowledge of Microsoft Office; willingness to learn new software.
Strong interpersonal skills -: ability to interact with employees at all levels in a friendly and professional manner.
Preferred
College degree in Accounting or Business or 5 years experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
